ADDRESS Project

ADDRESS (Active Distribution networks with full integration of Demand and distributed energy RESSources) is a European Union-funded smart grid project to develop and validate innovative control strategies and network architectures for active networks with large-scale penetration of renewables and distributed generation. The project was launched summer 2008 and will continue through 2012. CURRENT is actively participating in 5 of the 8 total working groups within the project while partnering with such utilities as EDF, ENEL, Iberdrola, and Vattenfall:

• WP2 - Metering, Demand Side Management, and Distributed Energy Resources Flexibility Management
• WP3 - Active Grid Operation
• WP4 - Commuinication Architecture for Smart Grids with Active Demand
• WP5 - Acceptance and Benefits for Users
• WP6 - Technology & Field Testing
