OPEN POSITIONS

OpenGrid Software Engineers 
Location:  Germantown, Maryland, or Rochester, New York

In this role you will be responsible for the designing, developing, testing and maintaining application level software both individually and as a team. You will have frequent interaction with the entire software engineering team as well as other functional teams throughout the company in order to meet specified requirements.

Design and Development will be heavily done in Java on a Java EE platform. Front end development is done with Struts, Tiles, JSF and several other technologies.

To be successful in this role candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following:

• Java
• Presentation technologies (Eclipse SWT, DHTML/HTML, JSP, XSL)
• Distributed component technologies (EJB, application servers)
• Database design and development and data modeling (SQL, XML)
• Fundamentals of computer science: object-oriented design and design patterns, data
  structures, algorithms
• Development process tools: IDE's, compilers, debuggers, profilers, version control
  systems, code coverage and automated testing tools
• Experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Experience with application servers (WebLogic, JBoss, etc.)
  

To be considered, candidates must also have a 4-year college degree or equivalent experience and at least 3 years experience in commercial product development using many of the technologies described above.
